Poem Out, Out Robert Frost Analysis Essay Example For Students
Poem Out, Out Robert Frost Analysis Essay All poets have a certain licence when they are writing and that license includes the ability to change, slightly exaggerate or indeed understate facts. But all the great writers adhere reasonably closely to facts and real life. In the poem I have chosen Out, Out by Robert Frost, I believe he has done this successfully and has created a very effective and realistic poem. This particular poem of Robert Frosts is quite deceptive at first, and we believe it to be another of Frosts pastoral poems about the beautiful countryside. We are mislead, and then later realise it to be a more realistic poem of a horrific accident, to a young boy while he is cutting wood with a saw at home, on the family farm. The poem opens by giving us a description of what was happening, it starts immediately by giving us a vivid image of the saw and the sound it made. In the opening of the poem it seems like a very normal and routine task being carried out, and it is through this opening of the poem, we the readers are fooled. In the first line The buzz saw snarled and rattled in the yard the poets uses very effective verbs to create the impression the saw is really aggressive and almost alive. Then in line three it says Sweet scented stuff when the breeze drew across it and I think this reassures us this is another of Frosts partially well known nature poems. In line four and five it describes the scenery around the place where the poem is set. It says Under the sunset, far into Vermont and it is here Frost creates a real sense of time and place and in my opinion reinforces our opinion on the theme of the poem. In the following line Frost uses a very clever device of repetition and onomatopoeia. He repeats the first line saying And the saw snarled and rattled, snarled and rattled inorder to emphasise how aggressive and rough the saw really is. In my opinion Frost then creates a calm and peaceful atmosphere by line nine And nothing happened, day was all but done. Then in line ten our feelings on the poem changes when the poets says, Call it a day I wish they might have said. This seems to alert us, and we hear the regret in the poets tone and we sense that something is about to happen. It is here we initionally sense this is not a pastoral poem, but it is one of deeper meaning. In line eleven and twelve Frost uses and repeats the word boy, as he does throughout the whole poem. This is to make us think of the boys youth and this is emphasised by the repetition of boy. Then in the following two lines the poet here tries to portray the saw as if it has almost has an intelligence of its own, and it too knew what food was. As Frost uses the simile as if to prove that saws knew what supper meant. It then goes on to say that the boy must of given the hand meaning for a second or two the young boy was absent minded and for a split second must of let go of the saw. Then the poet says well whatever way it happened neither the boy nor the saw refused the meeting In the poem the boys response to the accident is not what I would of expected- The boys first outcry was a rueful laugh this was as if the shock of how quick it had all happened, refrained reality from hitting him and he did not understand how serious the accident was. Then the boy swung round towards them, holding up his hand, he does this as if to beg the people around him to help and to see, just like a young child if someone would take control, by telling him what to do. In the poem it also says he does this in order to keep the life from spilling. This is a metaphor used by Frost and here he means quite literally the boy held up his hand, to keep the blood that symbolised the boys life, from draining from him. Then the boy saw all meaning he realised exactly the extent of what had happened and he now fully realised how serious it was. Then in the following two lines we see how the young boy was brought up and what was expected of him. Since he was old enough to know, big boy doi ng a mans work, though a child at heart -. Here we see how the boy in the poem was still young at heart and although he was physically strong enough to carry out such a dangerous job, growing up in a farming society, he was expected to do this. Jobs on a farm were to determine his lively hood for the rest of his life, but then the boy saw all spoiled, he knew he would never be able to work like he was brought up to again. Here he begged his sister Dont let him cut my hand off- the doctor, when he comes. Dont let him sister! The poet uses his own words here to create atmosphere and feeling in the poem. Icici Bank- Strategy Analysis EssayAs when the reader knows these were the actual words of the boy, it makes us feel sorry for him. Then it says but the hand was gone already by this the poet meant it was so badly cut it could not be saved. There was nothing that could be done. The doctor then put the boy in the dark of ether meaning put him to sleep with an anaesthetic, and there he lay breathing peacefully. Until, the watcher at his bedside took fright, no one believed, as the boys heart rate gradually began to fade away- Little- less- nothing! The boy was dead. The last two lines of the poem convey in my opinion the message behind the whole poem. No more to build on there. And they, since they were not the one dead, turned to their affairs. The message: this is reality, this is what happens in real life, we all must move on. Just like in the poem were the boys family were fatalistic people, and they realised and accepted what must happen in life. They saw no matter how much we d ont want it to there is no point in drawing out the grief.

Closed Circuit Television Promotes Social Inequality And free essay sample
Control Essay, Research Paper Closed Circuit Television Promotes Social Inequality and Control by Aaron R. Hamming In recent old ages at that place has been a turning tendency affecting the usage of closed circuit telecasting cameras. Many concerns are utilizing these cameras to supervise shoppers big metropolitan countries have started utilizing these systems to see people in public areas. These cameras can be highly little and are frequently barely noticeable. But few people it seems hold stopped to see the possible impacts these cameras have on our lives. And it is the negative effects that may really good outweigh any of the possible benefits. Presently there are no equal Torahs modulating the usage of such cameras, and it is improbable that without public call that there will be any instituted. Both the United States Congress every bit good as the Supreme Court have been unquestionably soundless on this issue. Due to the conservative nature of both of these establishments our personal autonomies will most likely continue to be of secondary importance to societal control involvements. We will write a custom essay sample on Closed Circuit Television Promotes Social Inequality And or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The chief statement for the usage of closed circuit telecasting is, of class, our protection or safety. The benefit comes by doing the consumers feel more secure while they shop. This in bend allows them to buy more which straight helps the concern. This may look to be successful from a concern position, but it can non trust to work out the root issue of our societal jobs. All it can make is dissemble the fact that our society has these such jobs. Until the footing of these jobs are addressed they can non be solved, and they will merely go on to acquire worse. By disregarding these jobs we can merely worsen them. The 4th amendment to the U.S. Constitution is really expressed in vouching our protection from unreasonable hunt and ictuss, and this is basically what the rampant usage of c.c.t.v is go againsting. Because there are no Torahs modulating it? s use, guiltless people will go on to be scrutinized and evaluated for no significant ground. Such monitoring allows the impressions of sensible cause or hunt warrants to be wholly ignored. The usage of these cameras in the private sector allows concerns to seek and find the motivations of the people shopping at that place. Peoples that do non look to be good consumers are identified and may be asked to go forth the premises. Or in the instance of public streets, people that look like possible trouble makers can be harassed or detained for no other ground than their visual aspect. The net consequence of labeling people as consumers and non-consumers is that it breeds societal inequality. This aiming can be based on nil more than a individual? s visual aspect. Certain groups that can be identified merely by superficial features, such as the impoverished, are routinely overtargeted by this system. It serves as a method of sublimating an constitution by extinguishing what the shop may see to be unwanted shoppers. Such an illustration of profiling and over-poli cing goes wholly against this state? s impression of equality under the jurisprudence and is a blazing illustration of violation upon our most basic civil autonomies. Minorities are frequently targeted based on visual aspect. In the position quo, it is allowable to make this even if they have done nil incorrect. Establishing opinions on racial or cultural differences is inherently racist and sets back equality motions in this state by advancing segregation. This systematic exclusion in public topographic points promotes what is known as hyper-polarization. Attempts to aim and extinguish people based on category or racial differences necessarily leads to disaffection of these sections of society. The authorities? s determination non to go involved makes it complicit in this agency of favoritism, traveling us one measure closer towards de-facto favoritism. Such hyper-polarization could take to open category struggle in the signifier of mass opposition or rioting. Confronting no options can surely take to utmost reactions. This will besides function to warrant greater methods of societal control. In the face of social pandemonium at that place would look to be small alternate but to set up a rigorous constabulary province. Another negative effect of c.c.t.v. is that it allows concerns to supervise it? s employees. Employers will hold the chance to forestall employees from making anything that does non straight profit the concerns productiveness. Making so in consequence dehumanizes the employee, cut downing them from persons to mere machines ; automatons whose exclusive map is to turn a net income for the concern. While this may non be a enormous job in the U.S. because of our basic labour Torahs, it is going black in less-developed states. Make to the tendency of globalisation, industries are puting up mills in states where labour Torahs are minimal or even non-existent. And with closer surveillance the conditions in these sweatshops will be allowed to deteriorate dramatically. Employers can watch from 1000s of stat mis off, cognizing when underpaid employees are making such counter productive things as feeding or taking bathroom interruptions. What is needed to extinguish the menaces posed by c.c.t.v. usage is a agency of doing the system accountable to the populace. The surveillers need to be held responsible for what this information is used for. It is indispensable that we prevent such a powerful tool of societal control from being used about entirely for economic benefit. Without democratic inadvertence of surveillance engineerings such as c.c.t.v. , we remain at the caprices and desires of those runing the systems. It is naif to believe that if we don? t challenge each case of such societal control that the state of affairs will better. More likely is that each measure we take towards a constabulary province that goes unchallenged will let for each subsequent measure to take topographic point. And after each measure it becomes progressively hard to change by reversal the tendency. Bibliography No outside beginnings used 387

The Things They Carried an Example of the Topic Literature Essays by
The Things They Carried The Things They Carried is a novel describing the War in Vietnam as seen by a soldier who is both the narrator and the protagonist of the 22 stories that make up the book. Although the events are fictional, it is worth noting that the author, Tim OBrien who is also the narrator/character was deployed in Vietnam, so the descriptions of events and people are done using very realistic details, a technique called verisimilitude, which gives the novel a sense of authenticity. Women appear to play a small role in the novel but in fact they are crucial both to the story and the character. Present or not, named or unnamed, the role of women is incredibly important to understanding not only the novel itself, but particularly the characters. Thesis statement: the women in The Things They Carried are idealized by men and this ideal image is seen as a means of surviving the war, but in the end, their ideals are shattered by reality. In the end, the list is enlarged to encompass not only military equipment, but also the hopes, dreams, and fears that each young man carried into battle. The weight that the soldiers drug through the mud is thus not only physical, but deeply emotional. The women in The Things They Carried do not seem to have thoughts, fears, and feelings of their own. They are idealized and their imaged serves as a kind of solace from the atrocities of war; they represent what is outside their world, i.e. the battlefield. In fact, their presence is sometimes invoked, in the sense that with the exception of Mary Anne Bell, the rest of the female characters - Jimmy Crosss girlfriend Martha, Linda, OBriens first love, Henry Dobbinss girlfriend etc are not actually there; they are present through memories, photographs and stories (Bloom: 23). In the end, Jimmy Cross realizes that his love for Martha is not sustaining, but destroying him; he needs to leave his love for her behind which leads him to burning her letters (Posek). In fact, OBrien later explains his belief that in order to fill the emptiness in ones life, one must let go of some of the things that he may think he needs; in other words, the excessive burdens that weigh him down must be left, and only then can they become like the soldiers in their dreams who gave themselves over to lightness, they were carried, they were purely borne (OBrien: 22) (Posek). Mark Fossie brings his girlfriend from back home, Mary Anne Bell hoping that he could reconstruct their relationship and continue it during the war. She is de-idealized during the war because she loses her femininity and becomes more of a soldier than any of the male combatants. She arrives dressed in "White culottes and a sexy pink sweater" which was a very traditional outfit for a woman (O'Brien: 90) and is presented wearing cut-off blue jeans and a swimsuit top that was black (OBrien: 95) which made her attractive in the eyes of the male characters. Her shift is drastic; upon her arrival she is not only unprepared for war but also appears quite unwilling to become involved in the actual combat. Nonetheless, she becomes very fond of military paraphernalia and even blackens her face with charcoal and carries around an M-16 (OBrien: 102). Also, she stops using cosmetics and adopts a masculine look: "No cosmetics, no fingernail filling. She stopped wearing jewelry, cut her hair short and wrapped it in a green bandana"(OBrien: 98). Moreover, in the end she leaves Mark. Thus the loss of femininity along with her decision to leave mark destroys the ideal that was centered on her. In the case of Henry Dobbins, who carries his girlfriends pantyhose with him as a connection with the outside world, more precisely with his life back home, the love for his unnamed girlfriend is the element which gives him hope and something to look forward to during the war. His idealized memory of her is shattered when, upon returning home, she breaks up with him (Bloom: 27). Nevertheless, his experience with the war and the fact that he survived it determine him to hold on to the pantyhose and think it will still bring him luck. During the war, Jimmy Cross carries pictures of a girl he only went out with once; again, the love for Martha is what keeps him going and gives him something to look forward to, i.e. being with her. And again, upon returning home, Jimmy is faced with the impossibility of winning Marthas heart. Linda, the narrator/protagonists first love from the fourth grade represents a slightly different kind of idealized feminine image. She represents Timmys first experience with love: It had all the shadings and complexities of mature adult love, and maybe more, because there were not yet words for it, and because it was not yet fixed to comparisons or chronologies or the ways by which adults measure such things. I just loved her. (OBrien: 228); symbolically, on their first date they see a war movie; this establishes a deep connection between love and war, one that is recognizable in all the other romances too. Also, the fact that Linda had died establishes an inextricable link between love and death (OGorman), one that later develops and results in an implicit conclusion that in fact, the two are the same thing (OGorman) when Linda appears in one of Timmys dreams and tells him to stop crying and that death does not matter. Perhaps more significantly, Linda, their love, is the first in stance when OBrien the writer and narrator wants to write and immortalize a moment in time, a memory, a feeling: And as a writer now, I want to save Linda's life. Not her body her life. (OBrien: 236). The difference compared to the other romances is not only the naivet of their love, but also the fact that ironically, death is what keeps her image idealized in Timmys mind: I loved her then and then she died. And right here, in the spell of memory and imagination, I can still see her as if through ice, as if I'm gazing into some other world, a place where there are no brain tumors and no funeral homes, where there are no bodies at all. (OBrien: 246) His implicit conclusion at the end of the novel is that war only brings destruction, both in terms of actual war casualties but also in terms of those who survive the war whose lives are ruined and whose potential is never fully realized because of war trauma: If at the end of a war story you feel uplifted, or if you feel that some small bit of rectitude has been salvaged from the larger waste, then you have been made the victim of a very old and terrible lie. (OBrien: 68). His characters are victims of their own idealizations which never fully materialize simply because life is never ideal. Most importantly perhaps, a big part of the emotional burden that the men are forced to carry with them during combat consists of being forced to abandon ones individuality: You're a shadow. You slip out of your own skin, like molting, shedding your own history and your own future, leaving behind everything you ever were or wanted or believed in. (OBrien: 211). Even after the war, the psychologic al burdens of the former soldiers continue to affect them, and to them romantic rejection and failure are added; some of the soldiers, as OBrien tells us, have no one to share the pain and grief with, and are unable to come to terms with the experience of the war. Thus one can assume that this collection of war stories is OBriens therapeutic method of dealing with the past and contributing to others understanding of it as well. References Bloom, Harold. With these issues staring them in the face, Lucent had no choice but to completely revamp its corporate layout. It found itself using smaller focus groups to find problems or new ideas in production. Managers now are forced to have a new outlook on many past stigmas such as top-level bureaucracy. This organization has decided that with declining profits and market share, it needs to become more employee and consumer focused. New managers were brought in to replace its horizontal structure with a more vertically focused organization. An organization that wasnt afraid to listen to new ideas and even implement them into their production processes. The overall strategy to these changes was to improve sales and cut costs. Jeong Kim was selected as the new head of optical networks to improve performance. Delivery time was to be improved by 30% within Kims 100-day plan. Even though Lucent has decided to focus more on employee needs, 5000 more people will be laid off in order to further lower operating expenses. Types of Budgets and Budgeting Techniques Research Paper
Types of Budgets and Budgeting Techniques - Research Paper Example Depending on the worth and value of a business, an organization creates a budget that well suits the resources and funds a business is exposed to. Additionally, different organizations have implemented different forms of budgeting. The different types of budgeting greatly depend on the time period and the monetary requirement by an organization. Some budgets are created only to cater to short time needs while others may be created to meet long time expectations of an organization (Cliche, 2012). The author further argues that some budgets are based on the expected income in a specific period of time while otherd are based on the cash in hand at the time of the creation of the budget. Kinds of Budget i. Operating Budgets This kind of budget is a financial statement that presents the financial plan for every expense and revenue (Oââ¬â¢Sullivan & Sheffrin, 2003). The plan dictates the funds allocated to each responsibility around expenditure and revenues over the budget period. Opera ting budgets include the profit budget and revenue budget. The expense budget is a budget documentation that highlights the expected expenses over the budget period (Cliche, 2012). Forms of expenses include the variable discretionary and fixed expenses. Discretionary expenses are those that are created by the management decisions and cannot be based on certainty, for instance the accounting fees. Revenue budgets project the future sales of an organization based on the requirements of the organization. Profit budgets combine the results from the expense and revenue budget to create a final resource allocation system in the organization. ii. Financial Budgets Financial budgeting revolves around how an organization plans to get money and how it plans to use the funds. They include the cash budget, balance sheet budget and the capital expenditure budget (Oââ¬â¢Sullivan & Sheffrin, 2003). The cash budget is based on the amount of funds an organization has on hand, and the expenses the organization has to cover over the budget period. It helps organizations evaluate the expense clearance capabilities. Capital expenditure budget helps an organization know whether they have enough funds to cover capital investment over the budget period. Capital investments include investment in heavy machinery or in buildings and property (Cliche, 2012). Balance sheet budget calculates the quantity of assets and liabilities over the budget period to be considered. iii. Variable Budgets Variable budgets are budgets created to offer more than the provisions of the fixed budget. They are flexible enough to cover the variations that may occur over the budget time (Oââ¬â¢Sullivan & Sheffrin, 2003). However, variable budgets are difficult to prepare since the cost variables are difficult to predict and determine. iv. Zero Base Budgets In other budgeting creations, managers carry forward the results obtained from the previous calendar recordings. This is a shortcoming that makes an or ganization not evaluate their progress from a fresh start. In ZBB (zero-base budget) the results from the previous calendar are disregarded and a fresh financial plan is created (Cliche, 2012). In my organization, the most appropriate budget to use is the operational budget. The technique in this type of budgeting is based on the ability to record and allocate funds to each responsibility in the organization over the budget p

The Basic Sorting Algorithms Computer Science Essay
The Basic Sorting Algorithms Computer Science Essay In the following scientific report, the basic sorting algorithms will be discussed and examined. Timing will be done on the different sorting algorithms and experiments will be done to see which of the different sorting algorithms are the most efficient. Assumptions will be made on which sorting algorithm is the most efficient and then compare the results to see if the right assumption were made. We will discuss the reasons why each sorting algorithm is efficient and under which conditions are efficient. A brief explanation of each sorting algorithm will be given to get the basic idea what its all about. Then a brief conclusion will be done to round of the scientific report Bubble sort is probably one of the most popular and simple sorting algorithm. It is often used as a programming exercise for beginners because it is relatively easy to grasp and understand. The problem though is that its not very efficient, therefore bubble sort only gets used once in a blue moon. There are more efficient sorting algorithms used in real application and that will be discussed in a later stage. It basically two steps that happen in bubble sort, which are: It compares each pair of adjacent elements from the start of the array and, if they are not in the right order, they get swapped If at least one swap has occurred the you repeat step one until no numbers gets swapped Heres a graphical example how Bubble Sort works. Bubble sort http://www.algolist.net/Al We going to sort an array {5, 1, 12, -5, and 16} using bubble sort. Selection sort just like bubble sort is one of the simplest of the sorting algorithms and it works very well with small files. The concept of this algorithm is quite simple. The array is said to be divided in two parts, a sorted part and an unsorted part. At the beginning the sorted part is empty while the unsorted part is the whole array. At every step the method/algorithm finds the smallest element in the unsorted part of the array and the ads it to the end of the sorted part of the array. When the unsorted part becomes empty the algorithm stops. Insertion Sort just like bubble and Selection is one of the most basic and most common sorting algorithms around. This sorting algorithm is more efficient than the other to because it has fewer comparisons than the other two, but this will be discussed in more detail later on. Think about how you sort a deck of cards. You start from the beginning and work through the deck and as you find cards that arent in the right order you remove them and place it in the right order, and you do the this until all the cards are in the right position and your deck is sorted This is the main idea behind Insertion sort. The Method Insertion sorts breaks up the array in two parts, sorted and unsorted. At the start the sorted part of the array only contains one element. Each step the algorithms runs, it expands the sorted part of the array by one and then places the first element of the unsorted region and places it in the right place in the sorted area. This will carry on till the whole array will be a sorted array. The illustration on the right hand side shows step by step how insertion sort works. Shell sort Shell sort algorithm is one of the eldest sorting algorithms out there and was invented by D.L Shell in 1959[3]. It is quite effective and easy to comprehend. The sorting algorithm follows two standard procedures: 1. It arranges the data into a two dimensional array 2. The columns of the array will then be sorted Once the procedure has been concluded, the resultant data sequence is placed into another two dimensional array, but with less columns. The columns are then sorted and the above procedure is repeated until a single sorted column is leftover [3]. MERGESORT The merge sort algorithm uses divide and conquer approach. The algorithm firstly divides the data sequence into two halves, sorts the two halves and then combines them together to form a sorted set of data sequences. [4] Figure 0-4 http://www.inf.fh-flensburg.de/lang/algorithmen/sortieren/merge/mergen.htm In the above figure it illustrates the basic merge sort process. It starts by dividing the unsorted data sequence a into to unsorted data sequences b and c. The data sequences b and c are then sorted with recursive calls to form b and c. Once the two halves are sorted, they are combined to form a sorted data sequence namely a [4]. Quick sort Quick sort is the fastest sorting algorithm when it comes to large elements in an array. Quick sort has to make use of recursion, because of the way quick sort, sorts the elements. The way quicksort works is that there are three pointers, namely a left, right and pivot pointer, the pivot pointer is the most important one. The Left pivot will point to the most left element in the array and the right to the most right element in the list. For the pivot any number can be chosen, but its normal practice to make the first element your pivot. The steps: Pivot and left pointer points to the 1st element in the list and right to the last element The pivot pointer will now compare the object that its pointing at with the one that the right pivot is pointing at. If the right pointer objects are smaller than the pivot then the two objects swap, it is important to note that the pivot will always point to one number, so if that number moves so does the pivot, the right and left pivot stays in its respectable place. If the right pointer object is not smaller that pivot, the right pivot will just move left until a smaller one is found Once the pivot swaps with the right pivot , the pivot and the right pointer will point to the same object, therefore the right pivot will not move anymore now the left pointer will move one right The left pointer and the pivot will now compare, and it the left pointer object is bigger than the pivot object then it will swap, and the pivot will now join the left pointer. This will then let the right pointer move one left This will carry on until all three pointers point to the same object, this means that the object is in its perfect position, to the left of this object no number will be bigger than it and to the left no number would be smaller. Once it found the first object in its perfect place, it will then move to the left hand side of that object It will follow all the above steps with the left side. Ones the left side is all sorted it will then go to right side of our first perfect number and sort the right hand side with the same procedure (To see a Illustrative example see Appendix A) Sorting Algorithms Figure -Sorting Algorithm Figure 1 above shows us the relationship of time (ms) and the number of objects the sorting algorithm has to sort. There are 5 sorting algorithms measured in this experiment namely Bubble sort, Insertion Sort, Selection Sort, Double Insertion and Double Selection sort. As can be noticed from the graph above s that all five sorting algorithms has the same trend but some just increases more than the other and sometimes by quite a substantial amount. First thing noticeable is that if we sort little objects, lets say less than 2000 objects, then it does not matter what algorithm we use all of them are at about the 0ms mark. Only when we get to about the 10000 objects mark, then only the sorting algorithms really shows who the best is. As we can see from the graph is that Bubble Sort is the least sorting Algorithm and is basically just used to explain the sorting procedure to new comers to the programming language. Bubble selection and Double selection are very similar when it comes to efficiency. The most efficient sorting algorithm by far is the Insertion Sorts. As can be seen by figure 1 Double insertion is the most efficient and it all works on how the sorting algorithm sorts the array which is discussed in the abstract portion of this report. Experimental Procedures What was needed to run the experiment The apparatuses needed for his experiment where a Computer, Visual studio C#, and a user that has been tutored for Sorting algorithms How experiment was executed Code where write for each sorting algorithm in a method in a specific program. A new timing class was created, to have something to time how fast or slow the different sorting algorithms gets sorted. Then the method for each 5 sorting algorithms gets executed and run five times to get an average, to eliminate errors that might have been caused. After all the data has been recorded, a graph was plottedà [1]à . This graph was then evaluated Problems that arise The main problem that happened was, each time the programme ran the results werent always constant. And if the programme was not a dedicated programme (i.e. the only programme running at the time) then the values went haywire. This problem was fixed by forcing the visual studio to run a garbage collector and collect all the garbage, to make sure that when programme runs all the processing power is used for the programme so the times will be more accurate. Conclusion In this report five different sorting algorithms where discussed. Each one was investigated and briefly explained how they work, and why each one is efficient in their own right. As the experiment when on it was noticed that some sorting algorithms are less efficient than others and that had all to do with how each sorting algorithm works. When figure-1 was examined, it was concluded that Bubble sort was the least efficient of the different sorting algorithms and that Double insertion Sort was the most efficient of all the sorting algorithms. From this we can conclude that Bubble sort is best used just to explain or introduce the sorting algorithm to a new student. As soon as you want to have an efficient sorting algorithm the Double will be the best because less time will be spent to sort the objects in the array References http://wiki.answershttp://www.c.happycodings.com/Sorting_Searching/code17.html http://stackoverflow.com/questions/832765/whats-a-bubble-sort http://www.inf.fh-flensburg.de/lang/algorithmen/sortieren/shell/shellen.htm http://www.inf.fh-flensburg.de/lang/algorithmen/sortieren/merge/mergen.htm http://www.algolist.net/Algorithms/Sorting/Bubble_sort http://www.algolist.net/Algorithms/Sorting/Selection_sort http://www.algolist.net/Algorithms/Sorting/Insertion_sort
